DEFENSE

The Defense screen displays the defensive positioning and statistics for one team. To choose which team is displayed, click on the 'Team' dropdown listbox and select a team. To select which stats are displayed for each player, click the 'Season' listbox and select 'This Season', 'Last Season', 'Career', or 'Minors'. The 'Career' setting will show cumulative career totals for each player at the position shown.

Reading the Defense Screen

The first section shows your starting 8 defensive players. The next section shows all the position players on your bench. The bottom section shows the best position player prospects in your farm system.

Label Meaning Description
P Positions The positions that the player is capable of playing, in order of competence.
Pct. Fielding Percentage The player's Fielding Percentage at the position he's current playing (or his normal position if he's currently on the bench).
PO Putouts Putouts recorded at the position he's current playing (or his normal position if he's currently on the bench).
A Assists Assists recorded at the position he's current playing (or his normal position if he's currently on the bench).
GS Games Started Games Started at the position he's current playing (or his normal position if he's currently on the bench).
RF Range Factor The player's Range Factor at the position shown. Range Factor is calculated by adding the total number of chances the player has and dividing by Games Played at that position.
Range Range Comparison The player's Range Factor, compared to the rest of the league at the position shown. A positive number indicates the player has performed better than average, while a negative number shows the percent that the Range Factor is below the league average.

Changing Your Team's Defensive Positioning

To move a player from one active defensive position to another, click on the listbox to the left of the player's name and select that player's new position. This will swap the player selected with the player that was previously at the selected position.

To move a player from the bench, click on the listbox to the left of the player's name and select that player's new position. This will swap the player selected with the player that was previously at the selected position.

The Auto-Sort button uses the computer AI to set your lineup, defense and bench for you.
